The Centre develops forecasts and proposals for the course of development of economic and financial science and for overcoming financial problems of social and economic development of the country in long-, medium-term and annual periods. The Centre encourages the development of finance theory, public finance management and financial statistics; prepares recommendations on the absolutely new ways of improving financial relations to ensure the competitiveness of the national economy, speed up innovation-driven economic and social development of the country on the basis of the reasonable use of the reproduction potential of the national economy, conservation of all types of resources, improvement of performance quality as well as the effective use of opportunities and advantages of the international division of labour; studies and summarizes the achievements of economic and financial science and the best practices of economic and financial work in Russia and abroad; participates in the projects of the Russian Federation Ministry of Finance, other ministries and agencies, establishments and organizations relating to the introduction of the accomplished research results into practice.
