Budget Analysis and Forecasting Centre

The main sphere of research carried out by the Budget Analysis and Forecasting Centre is modelling the relationship between the parameters of the fiscal policy and the key macroeconomic indices of development of the Russian economy. The considerable part of the work done by the Centre is dedicated to developing long-term patterns of the Russian Federation budget system development.

The assessment of the consequences of deviation of one or another external and internal factor from projected values for the budget system and measurement of the possible impact of the budget policy measures on the rates of economic growth, exchange rate, inflation and other economic indices may serve as a practical application of the patterns developed.

A systematic analysis of the budget risks constitutes an important part of the Centre's activity. It implies an examination of the budget system resilience to possible shocks and development of recommendations on ensuring "budget protection".
